Finding Opening Educational Resources [Online]

Finding Opening Educational Resources [Online]

This workshop is a part of the OER Workshop Series.

Existing Open Educational Resources (OER) are housed in many different places, meaning that they can sometimes be difficult to find. In this session, we will provide you with an overview and tools for beginning a strategic search for OER and evaluate their suitability for your course and student learning needs. We will also highlight services and resources at UCalgary that support your discovery of OER in your discipline.

By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Describe key aspects of OER that should be assessed before adoption
  • Identify key search tools and resources for finding OER, including openly licensed media, and ancillary content
  • Conduct a preliminary search for OER

Location: Online via Zoom

Facilitators: Sarah Adams and Andrew Waller

Registration: Register through the Taylor Institute Course Calendar

This workshop is a partnership between Libraries and Cultural Resources and the Taylor Institute.
