Manage Your Research Identity and Track Your Impact: Understanding Metrics and Altmetrics In-Person

How do you stand out in a crowded field of researchers? How can you present a coherent picture of your research and its impact? How can you learn who is citing you and what these data actually mean?

Methods to capture the impact of research have expanded in recent years, and range from more traditional metrics such as the h-index to altmetrics, which capture social media engagement with research. This workshop will provide an introduction to the theory behind metrics, as well as practical strategies for tracking them for your own work.

The workshop will incorporate hands-on practice. If possible, please bring a laptop or tablet with internet connection (no special software required). A limited number of computers will be available for those who need them.

This is part two of a two-part series. Registration for Part 1: Creating a Digital Scholarly Profile, can be found here. Participants are not required to take both workshops.
