SUMMARY:How to Communicate your Research Impact
DESCRIPTION:Researchers are increasingly asked to provide evidence and
narratives of their impact within and beyond academia. As the University of
Calgary and major Canadian funders have signed the Declaration on Research
Assessment (DORA)\, these statements are becoming more prominent\, and
researchers are encouraged to include more diverse types of research output
and impact. Telling these stories and finding appropriate qualitative and
quantitative evidence can be challenging. By the end of this session\,
learners will: \n\n \n\n\n	Understand how the Declaration on Research
Assessment (DORA) is changing research assessment practices in Canada and
globally.  \n\n\n\n	Be able to plan their impact and tell their impact
story including the significance\, quality\, and impact of broad
scholarly contributions. \n\n\n\n	Know how to access University of
Calgary resources for collecting evidence to support their stories
\n\n\n\n	Begin to write their impact stories. \n\n\nThis session is
co-presented by Libraries and Cultural Resources and the Knowledge
 Engagement Team\, Research Services Office.
