Presenter Bio: Mark Warschauer is a Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of California, Irvine, with appointments in Informatics, Language Science, and Psychology. He is the founder of the Digital Learning Lab, which carries out research and development on the use of AI to support language development, literacy, and academic writing. He has served as editor of Language Learning & Technology journal, AERA Open, and currently, the Cambridge Elements Series on Generative AI in Education, and he is co-author of the forthcoming book, Generative AI in the Writing Classroom: Tool, Partner, or Threat? (Cambridge University Press). Professor Warschauer is Director and Principal Investigator of the National Center for Writing Research to Improve Teaching Effectiveness with Generative AI (WRITE AI Center), funded by the US Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences. He is a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and a Member of the National Academy of Education.
