Introduction to Textiles: Materials, Processes, and Nickle Galleries Date In-Person
Are you textile curious? Want to know the difference between cotton, wool, and silk fibres or how weaving, knitting, and felting create different textiles? Whether you are looking to enhance your technical knowledge, seek creative inspiration, or want to know more about Nickle Galleries’ collections; this workshop is for you.
Join Michele Hardy for an interactive look at textiles and textile structures using samples drawn from Nickle Galleries’ rich collection.
Please note food and drink are not allowed on the tour and you will be asked to check bags and wash hands before entering the vault. As there is limited seating in the vault area, participants should expect to stand for about an hour. If you have mobility concerns, or questions, please contact mhardy@ucalgary.ca
