[ONLINE] Digital File Management

[ONLINE] Digital File Management Online

Managing your digital files and research materials is critical for keeping yourself organized, collaborating with colleagues, and communicating with mentors. Digital file management can range from simple to complex depending on individual and organizational needs. Following best practices, being consistent, and documenting your file and folder naming are the key components. We will walk through an exercise to create a digital file management system that addresses your needs, how to create a README file to document a hierarchical organizational system for folders and introduce tools for batch naming/renaming files and folders and versioning.

For those who would like to know more about some specific areas of RDM and Personal Archiving, please consider attending the Introduction to Research Data Management January 5 at 1pm, Introduction to Data Management Plans January 6 at 1pm, and Personal Digital Archiving January 7 at 10am
