Skill Up Session: OVID Medline Online
Are you needing to conduct a literature search in the health sciences, or are working on a topic that intersects with biomedical literature? OVID Medline could be the database for you! This database utilizes Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) and keyword searching to produce targeted and transparent results - particularly helpful for evidence synthesis projects. This database requires some technical organization, and so practice makes perfect. Join us for a follow-along session to become acquainted with how the database operates and how you can apply the techniques to various projects that you have on the go.
In this introductory session, participants will learn how to break down their research question into distinct concepts, become acquainted with MeSH, learn which fieldcodes to apply and develop an understanding of boolean logic strings (ORs, ANDs, NOTs).
