This workshop will explore the emerging role of generative AI tools in identifying relevant literature for academic projects. Participants will gain insights into various AI powered platforms designed to support research and academic writing and learn to identify the appropriate tools to fit their needs.  

Participants should come prepared to use and engage with an AI tool during this session facilitated by James Murphy and Kathleen James. 

By the end of this session, learners will:  

  • Identify and evaluate generative AI tools relevant to literature searching and understand how to incorporate them into the research process 

  • Select the appropriate tool for their research needs 

  • Critically assess the limitations and ethical implications of using AI-powered tools in academic work
