Artificial Intelligence in Academic Publishing, Part 2 [ONLINE] Online

Considerations for Peer Reviewers and Editors.

This session will build upon the content explored in part 1, which introduced the basics of AI and its potential role for authors of academic works.

In this session, we will focus more specifically on the implications of AI tools for peer reviewers and editors of academic journals. Learners are welcome to attend one or both sessions.

By the end of this session, learners will:

  • Be aware of some of the benefits and risks of using AI tools in the editorial process.
  • Understand some of the ethical considerations of identifying AI-generated content in the editorial process.
  • Explore the link between AI tools and copyright considerations when evaluating others’ work.
  • Use existing resources and tools to develop an AI policy or statement for a particular journal.
