Symposium: Prairie Interlace: Weaving, Modernisms and the Expanded Frame, 1960-2000 In-Person
Prairie Interlace is an ambitious exhibition that examines the explosion of innovative textile-based art on the Canadian Prairies during the second half of the twentieth century. The exhibition features 60 works by 48 artists who challenged traditional approaches to weaving and embraced new techniques, materials, forms, and scale.
Prairie Interlace is a collaboration between Nickle Galleries and the MacKenzie Art Gallery of Regina. Further details about the exhibition, featured artists and programs is available, prairieinterlace.ca.
The symposium will launch a series of pre-recorded, candid conversations between the project writers and featured artists. It will be offered in-person at Nickle Galleries and livestreamed.
