Systematic Searching for Veterinary Reviews@HSL In-Person
Are you doing a veterinary literature search for your thesis or dissertation, or writing a review article? Wondering if your search retrieved all the relevant literature? In this introductory, hands-on workshop you will learn about:
- Types of reviews such as systematic, scoping and narrative reviews
- How to develop a searchable question
- Pros/cons of veterinary literature databases CAB Abstracts, Web of Science, PubMed
- Best practice techniques for comprehensive searches:
- Broaden and focus searches
- Subject heading searching
- Reference and cited reference searching
- Grey literature
- Exporting search results to EndNote
- Reporting guidelines – PRISMA
- Deciding where to publish
This workshop is a combination of lecture and hands-on search practice.
