Cleaning data with OpenRefine In-Person
Does your data need to be cleaned up prior to analysis? We’ll spend this hour getting familiar with the free, cross-platform tool, OpenRefine. OpenRefine is a powerful tool for working with messy data: cleaning it; transforming it from one format into another; and extending it with web services and external data. Participants will leave with a cheat sheet of useful commands, a good understanding of the importance of “clean” data, and some new tools to get that job done.
OpenRefine is a free tool that can be downloaded here.
