Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset (VR headset) that connects to a high-powered PC to enable advanced computations and graphics rendering. All University of Calgary faculty, students and staff members are welcome to book and use this Oculus Rift VR set in the Taylor Family Digital Library.  Our cart is not robust enough to be taken outside of the library.

Here are some of the things you can do with the Oculus VR set:

  • Experience virtual user interface
  • Use Medium application to create your own 3D models
  • Visit world most famous museums and cultural sites using Boulevard
  • Run real-time human body simulation using Sharecare VR.
  • Create your own parameterized functions and vector fields and graphs using Calcflow
  • Explore and share interactive 3D knowledge for anything using JigSpace VR.
  • Enjoy video games in a virtual world

Our Oculus VR cart contains the following:

  • High performance computer with Microsoft windows operating system
  • Keyboard and mouse
  • One display
  • Oculus Rift headset
  • Two Oculus controllers
  • Two sensors
  • Instructions sheet
