Telling Your Impact Story with Online Researcher Profiles Online

Researchers are increasingly called on to demonstrate the impact of their work, but how do you build an online profile? Which of the many platforms (ResearchGate, LinkedIn, Google Scholar, etc.) are worth the time and effort? Most importantly, how do you set this up so it requires minimal ongoing maintenance? In this session, we'll show you how to set up a profile in the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) web site, and how to establish or clean up your author profiles in Scopus and Web of Science (and connect them to ORCID). We'll also touch on other options you may want to consider such as Google Scholar and  LinkedIn. This session is designed for graduate students and early career researchers to set you up for success on these platforms, but if you are a seasoned researcher whose online profiles need some maintenance, this session is also for you.
