Presenter Bio: Dr. Teresa Scassa is the Canada Research Chair in Information Law and Policy at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. She is the author or co-editor of several books, including: The Future of Open Data (2022) and Artificial Intelligence and the Law in Canada (2021). She serves in a volunteer capacity on numerous advisory bodies, including the Ontario Information and Privacy Commissioner’s Strategic Advisory Council and the Ontario Health Data Council. In 2024 she was awarded the Piccaso Award in the category of Privacy Leader Academia/Thought Leader. Her research focuses on AI regulation, data governance and privacy.
