Presenter Bio: Dr. Ron Darvin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education of the University of British Columbia, and his areas of expertise are identity, investment in language learning, and critical digital literacies. His research on generative AI practices and issues of power and inequality have appeared in Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, Journal of Second Language Writing, and Computers in Human Behaviour. He has been recognized by Stanford University among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists and has done invited lectures in Georgetown University, University of California Berkeley and the University of Oslo.
