A gentle introduction to GIS and spatial data In-Person
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be potentially useful in almost any area of research. The availability of more user-friendly GIS software and the proliferation of open spatial data has made it easier for non-GIS experts to spatially visualize and analyze data. Through some simple hands-on exercises, this session will introduce participants to the basics of using GIS software to work with spatial data. No prior experience is required.
